USBC stablecoin launches on Uphold
A novel stablecoin designed to promote financial inclusion and regulatory compliance
U.S.-dollar backed stablecoin USBC is now live on the Uphold exchange.
The project’s co-founders include Kirk Chapman and Hard Yaka co-founder Greg Kidd and is supported by multiple companies in the Hard Yaka ecosystem including Omnumi, Uphold, and GlobaliD.
From their announcement:
USBC is a licensed U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin with native digital identity and a risk engine built into the blockchain. This enables compliance with traditional regulatory frameworks including KYC and sanctions screening while still being globally accessible with a non-custodial wallet.
The end result is a stablecoin that provides compliant, inclusive access to digital U.S. dollars around the world.
Expect more news in the coming weeks.
